Hard work for this week’s City Face… Please take a moment to meet Mike Tomes.  
 
How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Forty-three years, Mike is a 1990 BHS graduate and 1996 from Fairmont State College.
 
Are you married? Yes, to Christen Tomes for ten years.  They were married on August 28, 2004 at Christen’s parent’s farm in Grafton.
 
Children? Three – Haden, 16, sophomore at Bridgeport High School.  He plays football, basketball and baseball.  Bailey, 9, 4th grader at Johnson.  Bailey plays Bridgeport Jerry West Basketball and MSCC soccer. Her basketball team won the Jerry West 9-10 yr. old Community League championship this season.  Charlee is two.
 
What is your favorite color? Red
 
Where do you work? Mike is an agent for Nationwide Insurance, Kyle Johnson Insurance Agency.
 
Favorite Bridgeport spot? Wayne Jamison Field – he loves the community spirit and exciting atmosphere.
 
Favorite WV spot? Their farm because of the peace and quiet.
 
Favorite place outside of WV? Negril, Jamaica for its beauty and relaxing atmosphere.
 
Favorite restaurant?  Jim Reids in Nutter Fort was his favorite until it closed.  He now likes the Clique Club.
 
Best childhood memory?  Playing neighborhood basketball as a kid
 
Favorite musical group?  Country is Mike’s favorite genre of music.  Jason Aldean is his favorite artist and Fly Over States is one his favorite songs.
 
Pets? Cat named Tubby, Dog named Laney, Dog named Bo, 60 beef cattle and some chickens.
 
Hobbies? Raising beef cattle, coaching and travel
 
Interesting fact about you? Mike is a 21 yr. cancer survivor.
