City Faces in Different Places

Please take a moment to meet this week’s City Face Tim McNeely:
 
How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Tim has lived in Bridgeport on and off on since 2005.  
 
Where are you originally from?  He grew up in Logan County and graduated from Milton High School (now Cabel Midland) in 1987. He attended WVU from 1988-1992 for undergraduate degree and played basketball for the Mountaineers.  He also graduated from the WVU College of Law in 1995. 
 
Are you married? Yes, to Sarah Cann.  She is a 1996 BHS graduate.  She obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling from WVU.
 
Children? Yes, three children - Gray is in 6th grade at St. Mary’s Elementary School. She plays volleyball, enjoys participating in science fairs and school plays.  She played Auntie Em in the St. Mary’s Elementary School production of the Wizard of Oz this weekend.  Griffin, 20, is a sophomore at WVU majoring in small business and entrepreneurship. Kendell, 19, is a freshman at WVU, majoring in exercise physiology.
 
What is your favorite color? Green
 
Where do you work? Tim has been the Athletic Director of Fairmont State University since April 1, 2013.
 
Favorite Bridgeport spot? Golf is a passion of Tim’s and therefore, Pete Dye Golf Course is his favorite place.  He worked in the golf industry for ten years.  A previous job as the tournament director of the Nationwide Tour Pete Dye Classic brought Tim to Bridgeport. 
 
Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  TheGreenbrier is his favorite because he feels it’s a gem in West Virginia.  He appreciates its history and enjoys the PGA tour.  He feels it’s a nice way to showcase a part of West Virginia to the world as they tune in to watch golf.
 
Favorite place outside of WV? Tim visits Hilton Head Island to enjoy golf trips and family vacations.
 
Favorite restaurant?  Oliverios Ristorante and red clam sauce on linguini is his favorite dish.
 
Best childhood memory?  Tim fondly remembers watching his dad graduate from Pharmacy School at WVU when he was five.  It gave him something to aspire to and helped foster a strong work ethic.
 
Favorite musical group? David Matthews Band is his favorite group and Two Steps is his favorite song.  The band U2 is a close second.
 
Pets? Two cats Max and Calie
 
Hobbies? Golf, travel, cooking and fly fishing
 
Interesting fact about you?  Tim has lived in and/or worked in six counties in West Virginia for two or more years for each.   He’s learned a lot about different regions of the state and appreciates them all very much for their different assets.
