City Faces in Different Places

By Hannah Edwards on November 25, 2018 from City Faces via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Please take a moment to meet this week’s City Face, Savannah Aldridge.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport?  I moved to Bridgeport when I was 6, so fifteen years.

Where are you originally from?  Falls Church, VA
Are you married? No

Children?   No

What is your favorite color?  I love almost every color, but I will never turn down blue.

Where do you work? I am a full-time student at WVU pursuing a BA in Theatre, and a double minor in history and creative writing.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  The Bridgeport Public Library—I spent so many hours there.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Philippi, WV. My friends and I volunteered with New Vision Renewable Energy in Philippi over spring break and got to help them construct solar lights for communities around the world that don’t have electricity. We also got to hear some amazing stories about how the community of Philippi is impacting West Virginia and the rest of the world.

Favorite place outside of WV? Alaska. Some of the most beautiful views and intriguing history I have ever encountered.

Favorite restaurant? Grand China Buffet and Grill

Best childhood memory? Any time my parents read to me and my brothers. My favorite book was Fahrenheit 451.

Favorite musical group?   Difficult to pick a favorite, but I love Dion and the Belmonts.

Pets?  A beagle mix named Scout and an old cat named Orpheus (or Oz, or Krampus—his name is contested in the family).

Hobbies? At WVU, I am a student leader with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship—a campus ministry committed to being a genuine and welcoming community on campus, a place for people to explore what it means to follow Jesus both in college and beyond, and a group partnering with others around the world to stand against injustice. When I have time, I love to write fiction, play piano, write skits for camps, and serenade my pets on the banjo.

Interesting fact about you?  I was homeschooled until college, and I was in the men’s ensemble of The Pirates of Penzance at WVU.
