The Bridgeport Lions recently hosted Gray Jones, the newly installed District Governor of Lions District 29-I.  Two of the district governor’s platform items are to participate in new service projects in the community to create visibility and to recognize non-Lions who exhibit a “heart for service.”

 

During the meeting, the Bridgeport Lions recognized David Lang, president of the Harrison County chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, as its first recipient of an individual exhibiting “a heart for service.” Lang has headed SHP for several years and has lead groups in Harrison County as citizens have worked on building 580 on beds to date so “no kids in this town sleep on the floor.”
