Electro-Pop Duo Comes to Morgantown Event Center Oct. 17

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 04, 2014 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Swedish electro-pop duo Icona Pop comes to the Morgantown Event Center Friday, Oct. 17, as part of the Campus Consciousness Tour. Showtime is set for 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. at the Mountainlair and CAC box offices, ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-SHOW and 800-745-3000.

Icona Pop’s “All Night” has people moving on dance floors across the country, but their rave-fueled track “I Love It” is the song that truly set them on the radar of millions of electro-pop fans. The duo shot like a dart into the public’s collective subconscious by HBO’s hit show “Girls.” The unofficial summer anthem of two summers in a row, sales of “I Love It” now stand at 2 million in the U.S. alone, and the track remains a fixture in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In the U.K., it immediately hit the Top 5 upon its iTunes release. “I Love It” has dominated literally all pop cultural arenas: from “Glee” to “Dancing With The Stars” to repeat performances on American talk show staples like “Good Morning America,” “Today,” and “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”

All tickets are general admission — standing room only — and are $28 each. Showtime is 8 p.m. West Virginia University student tickets receive $5 discount with a valid WVU ID at the campus box offices (one discounted ticket per WVU ID).
