The GFWC Woman’s Club of Bridgeport held its awards and installation banquet, May 12 at Best Western in Bridgeport.

Rev. Jim Lang gave the invocation.

 

Presiding at the meeting were Co-Presidents Barbara Wilburn and Brenda Swiger. They announced the winners of awards won at the State Convention. They were Shirley Hadorn, Ruth Allen, and Jeannie Kelley, pictured left with Wilburn and Swiger. The Club also won the status of Superior and Honor Club.

 

Mary Ann Spatafore, Vice-President of GFWC North Central District was introduced. She held the installation of officers for the next term for the club. They were: President, Linda Rohrig; First Vice President, Tressa Wolfe; Co-Second Vice Presidents, Rene Starkey and Gaye Jeffers; Secretary, Julie Perine and Treasurer, Dot Sandy. (Pictured right. Rene Starkey and Gaye Jeffers presented Barbara and Brenda with a gift from the club for their dedication for serving as presidents for the last three terms. (Pictured below.)

 

A short business meeting was held to discuss the club's Charity Golf Tournament to be held June 11, 2022 at Bel Meadows. Anyone interested in playing can contact Barbara Wilburn 304-842-3395 or Brenda Swiger 304-842-4635 or any member.

 

Also, the Club will sponsor a Purse and Thirty-One Bingo on Sunday July 24, 2022 at the Senior Center in Clarksburg. Proceeds will go to “Little Red Wagons” for St. Jude’s Hospital.
