In recognition of Arbor Day 2019, Dan Cooley of the West Virginia Division of Forestry gave a presentation to a group of preschoolers at Simpson Elementary School. He explained the process of tree growth and donated tree seedlings to each student. The event was sponsored by the GFWC Woman's Club of Bridgeport Conservation Committee to focus on the Arbor Day Foundation's mission and to celebrate GFWC Federation Day.
