The North Central District held their Spring Workshop at Benedum Civic Center in Bridgeport on April 13, 2019.  The meeting was hosted by The Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club.

 

Representatives from seven district clubs attended.  The meeting was conducted by District President, Donna Mick.

 

Inspiration was given by Connie Leuliette, Shinnston Woman’s Club followed by Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America led by Sharon Twentier, Woman’s Club of Clarksburg.

 

The group was welcomed by Liz Tobrey, Workshop Chairman, Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club.

 

Reports were given by State Membership Chairman and Second Vice President, Natalie Hinkle;  State By-Laws Chairman,  Cindy Jenkins and State Children’s Advocate, Melissa Matheny.

 

Lunch was served at this time with Lyda Lister, President, Woman’s Club of Clarksburg, giving the blessing on the food.

 

The guest speaker was Cheryl Jones, Chief Nursing Officer of WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.  Ms. Jones gave a very interesting and informative presentation about the WVU Medicine Children’s Tower being built in Morgantown.  All woman’s clubs throughout West Virginia are holding projects and donating proceeds to WVU Medicine, which is GFWCWV State President Pam McCoy’s Special Project. 

Barbara Wilburn and Brenda Swiger, co-presidents of GFWC Woman’s Club of Bridgeport gave an invitation to the North Central Fall Convention.  It will be held October 5, 2019 at the Best Western in Bridgeport.   The Bridgeport Club will be host club.
