The Antero Foundation hosted its Sixth Annual Hats, Hearts & Horses Gala at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport on Saturday, raising $171,000 to support the foundation’s ongoing charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations across West Virginia and eastern Ohio.

“This annual benefit has evolved into a celebration of the work of The Antero Foundation while raising funds to continue making a difference in West Virginia and Ohio communities,” said Kevin Ellis, Antero Regional Senior Vice President and Antero Foundation Board Member. “We’re truly blessed to have such strong community ties and so many like-minded partners willing to step up and support these organizations in this way.”

Proceeds from this year’s sold out gala will benefit The Antero Foundation, the private charitable foundation of Antero Resources and Antero Midstream.  Funds will be used to continue the long-term legacy of investments in local charitable organizations in the region, including Ritchie and Doddridge Mercy Fund, Mountaineer Creative Arts Council, WV Farm Bureau Foundation and Tyler County Resource Network. Officially launched in late 2020, the Foundation has donated more than $1.7 million to causes in the five core focus areas of Education, Environmental Causes, Community Development, Health & Human Services, and Arts & Culture.

“Our Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser is an event we’re so passionate about, and we can’t thank our partners enough for their support to bring the Sixth Annual Hats, Hearts and Horses gala to life,” Antero Public Affairs Coordinator  and Antero Foundation Grants Coordinator, Stephanie Iaquinta said. “We’ve been able to assist countless organizations and families thanks in part to the generosity of our sponsors across West Virginia and Ohio, and it’s events like these that allow us to grow the positive impact in the communities where we live and work.”

In addition to a silent auction, viewing of the 149th Kentucky Derby and live music by Pittsburgh’s Jeff Jimerson and Airborne, the night’s programming included remarks from Amy Bush, Chief Administrative Officer of WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital in Morgantown, WV. In 2021, the Antero Foundation donated $100,000 to support WVU Medicine Children’s new facility located adjacent to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.  The financial support was targeted to the new neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and included sponsored nurses’ stations in the birthing center and NICU.

"Our children’s hospital is the hospital for West Virginia, as well as the surrounding region. The hospital would not be able to fulfill its mission of building healthier futures for our children without supporters like Antero,” Amy L. Bush, BSN, MBA, RN, CNOR, WVU Medicine Children's Chief Administrative Officer said. “We’re grateful for Antero and all our philanthropic partners. Their support is invaluable as we continue to provide the best possible outcomes for families across the region."
