Boxing It Up to Give Thanks is a community service initiative founded in 2017 at Bridgeport High School through Key Club to deliver boxed Thanksgiving meals to local food pantries and recipients of the Backpack Ministry. In 2018, the program was expanded to Key Clubs and schools throughout Division 3B in the state of West Virginia with a central purpose to wipe out food insecurity for one day and allow families to do what families to best: make memories!

Key Club leaders sought to “Unite Schools In Service" as the program was expaned this year to include Bridgeport, Lewis County, Lincoln, Notre Dame, and Robert C. Byrd high schools. Together, the clubs raised funds to package 575 boxed meals and delivered them to food pantries including The Clarksburg Mission, Lost Creek Helping Hands, WIC, Lord's Pantry, Soup Opera, Shepherd's Corner, Harvest Pantry, and the Backpack Ministry in Bridgeport, Lewis County, Norwood, and Robert C. Byrd schools.Founded on the phrases “Reach. Grow. Make a Difference" and with support of North Central West Virginia,  Key Club's Boxing It Up had a very successful second year.

The high school Key Clubs wish to thank all who contributed, whether through financial means or assistance with community outreach.
