West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner is pleased to announce that Marshall University senior Rebecca Turnbull has joined his office for a summer internship.

Rebecca is working with the Elections and Communications divisions within the Secretary of State’s Office.
An honors student and 2014 graduate of Bridgeport High School, Rebecca was selected as a member of the 2014 Class of the Society of Yeager Scholars at Marshall University.

Rebecca majors in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations, and minors in Constitutional Democracy. When she graduates from Marshall, she plans to attend the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University. Rebecca says that interning in the Secretary of State’s Office will help her better understand the inner workings of government.

“I wanted to gain more insight toward how laws function in society, as well as engage in a unique experience working in a state executive office,” Rebecca said about the internship.

“Rebecca is a valuable addition and resource to our staff,” said Secretary Warner. “We are excited to have her on board with us for the summer and we’re hoping to learn as much from her as she will from us.”
