100+ Women Who Care of Harrison County to Meet March 13; Organization Open for Charity Presentations

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 19, 2019 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The next meeting of the Harrison County chapter of 100+ Women Who Care will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 at Bridgeport Country Club.

The 501C3 organization has been in existence since 2016 and has funded many local causes. At the organization's first meeting, 40 attending members voted to award a financial gift to the Bridgeport Little League Challenger Division. A check for $4,000 was presented to Mike and Kim Martin on the league’s opening day. At the group’s second meeting, members voted to donate to The Elle Foundation, thereafter presenting finder Krista Arnold with a check for $5,870. That money is being used by foundation to ensure that infants born with congenital heart defects receive proper monitoring. Other organizations benefiting through the local chapter of 100+ Women Who Care have included the Jack Strong Foundation, Clarksburg Mission sober living homes, Boxing it Up to Give Thanks, Bridgeport High School DECA and Clarksburg League for Service, among others.

There is not yet a focus charity for next month's meeting. Anyone wishing to make a presentation on behalf of a local cause can contact Natalie Mason at nataliejmason1@hotmail.com.

At the meeting, members will vote for the cause they wish to fund at this time and individual members will each make a contribution. All Harrison County women are invited and encouraged to attend.
