On March 4, Meadowbrook Mall will be crawling with visitors; literally.

 

The 13^th Annual Baby & Me Day will not only feature the always popular UniCare Baby Crawl Contest, but will serve as a one-stop shop for all things baby – focusing on information and resources relating to mom and baby safety and well-being

 

“Baby & Me Day is free and open to the public and offers moms and moms-to-be valuable information about their health, their baby’s health, car seat installation demos, fun activities and fantastic door prizes,” said Meadowbrook Mall Marketing Director Robin Urquhart. “This event is so well received by our shopping moms. We are so lucky to have teamed up with WV Healthy Start/HAPI Project to put on this event for the past 12 – going on 13 years.”

 

Baby & Me gets under way at 10 a.m. The first 200 moms to register for the event at the WDTV5 Event Center will go home with swag bags, compliments of “Parents Magazine, The First Year.”

“Plus all registered moms will be eligible to win over $2,500 in door prizes, including a complete crib set, a glider chair and much, much more,” Urquhart said.

 

Many of the featured door prizes were provided by event partner, WV Healthy Start/H.A.P.I. Project.

 

Registration for the 12 p.m. UniCare Baby Crawl Contest starts at 10 a.m. All babies 12 months or younger and not yet walking are invited to participate. The contest will be held at the WDTV5 Event Center with prizes awarded for each heat winner. The overall winning crawler will win a jogging stroller.

 

Drawings for all other door prizes will begin immediately after the Baby Crawl Contest, Urquhart said.

 

To date, participants are Aetna Better Health of WV, Central WV Center for Pregnancy Care, Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library, Harrison County YMCA, Lewis-Upshur Parents as Teachers, Life Choice, Little Lambs Closet, Pregnancy Resource Center of Marion County, Right from the Start, Taylor County Starting Points Family Resource Center, The Health Plan, The Navigator (Market Place contacts for Affordable Health Care Act), UniCare Health Plan of WV, United Hospital Center’s Maternal Child, West Virginia Family Health, WIC, WV Birth to Three, WV Healthy Start/HAPI Project, WVU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology – Center for Reproductive Medicine, WVU Medicine Chestnut Ridge Center and WVU Medicine Children’s Healthy Babies Program.

 

“Baby & Me Day is definitely a fun event that allows Meadowbrook Mall to give back to the communities that support us,” Urquhart said.
