This year’s annual Bridgeport High School Color me Rad game took place Thursday, September 19 at Wayne Jamison field. Not only were the students of BHS there to watch a rival game match up but they were there in support of a community member in need. This year’s fundraiser was in support of Daniel Aloi. It was an easy choice for BHS Student Council as they heard of the accident. Daniel, his father, and best friend Brody Brocklemann were involved in a tragic car accident on the 4th of July. Daniel sustained the worst injuries. He is still recovering in Pittsburgh and had a major surgery earlier this week. His family is staying in Pittsburgh in the Ronald McDonald house. This adds up to several expenses. Thursday night began with the tailgate in the city park where music was played, food was grilled and the pit got fired up for the game. Color packets were also sold during the tailgate for the toss-up which occurred in the end zone prior to kick off. Then when halftime came around Student Council members flooded the stands with buckets to collect donations from the fans. The money collected from fans and from the students purchasing color packets was donated to the Alois. The community generosity helped us raise over $2000. BHS Student Council is happy to be able to help a local family during this time.
