Bridgeport High School Announces Donald Kummer, Jada Adlington as the June Students of the Month

Bridgeport High School has announced that Donald Kummer and Jada Adlington are the June Students of the Month.
 
Donald Kummer is the son of Brian and Debbie Kummer. He has maintained a 3.8 GPA throughout high school. He is a member of National Honor Society and is Vice President of the senior class here at Bridgeport High School. Donald played on the golf team is freshman and sophomore years and has played varsity basketball all four years of his high school career. He has been first team all-­ county and all-state honorable mention the past two years. He is a member a Bridgeport United Methodist Church. He spends most of his time doing school work and playing basketball. Donald will be continuing his basketball career at Fairmont State University and plans to major   in accounting/business.
Jada Adlington is the daughter of Rodney and Allison Adlington of Bridgeport.   Her current GPA is 4.03.  Jada is a member of the Bridgeport High School National Honor Society.   She has been a member of the BHS Frontline for four years and served as co-captain for the past two years. In 2014 the Frontline was awarded a gold medal at the West Virginia Oil and Gas Festival. As member of the marching band's frontline she represented BHS in the New York City Veteran's Day Parade and at Walt Disney World.  She has played alto saxophone in the symphonic band for four years.  She is the first chair saxophone in symphonic band this year. Jada has also played alto saxophone in the BHS Jazz Ensemble which has received many honors during her four years.  The Jazz Ensemble was named   Marshall University Jazz Festival Honor Band in 2014, 2015, and 2016.   In 2016 the jazz ensemble  received  the  highest  honor in the  state  by  being awarded  the  West  Virginia  Music  Educators Association Honor Jazz Ensemble. Jada has played saxophone in the Harrison County All-County Band for four years. She has been a library assistant and participated in the BHS Steel Drum Band Pandemic, the Main Attraction Show Choir and DECA. Jada studies vocal performance at The Fairmont State Academy for the Arts and performs with the academy throughout the region. She takes dance classes at Rebecca's Dance Studio. Jada is a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and is active in their youth group and choir program. She has also served as an assistant teacher at her church's vacation bible school.
 
She went on the church's mission trip to Charleston, SC where she worked in food pantries and Habitat for Humanity projects. In the summer of 2015, Jada toured Europe with the Bridgeport High School French Club. She enjoys snow skiing at Canaan Valley in the winter and water skiing at Tygart Lake in the summer. Jada has been accepted into the Honors College at WVU and plans to major in elementary education.
