SUBMITTED BY BRIDGEPORT MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL:

The Bridgeport Middle School Student Council held a food drive throughout the month of November, collecting nearly 2,050 non-perishable food items which have been donated to Shepherd’s Corner in Bridgeport.

The food drive featured a Hunger Games theme, each grade representing a district and competing against each other. The theme boosted the fun factor, along with the philanthropic aspect of the drive.

This project is one element in Principal Dave Mazza’s vision of BMS giving back to the community. While superior education is, of course, our main goal and target, we are also always encouraging our students and staff to be valuable citizens and community members, he said.
