Bridgeport Students Offered Free School Breakfast and Lunch through Year's End

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 10, 2020 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

FROM CHRIS DERICO, SNS, CHILD NUTRITION DIRECTOR FOR HARRISON COUNTY SCHOOLS:

Harrison County Schools has announced that all students at the four Bridgeport Schools (Bridgeport High, Bridgeport Middle, Johnston Elementary and Simpson Elementary) are now being offered free breakfast and lunch at school.

This is due to the USDA extending the summer food program through December 31, 2020.

Because it is only through December 2020, it is recommended that Bridgeport parents apply for free meals at www.schoolcafe.com

The Harrison County Board of Education will continue to work toward extending the free meals beyond December 2020.

All Bridgeport students are encouraged to take advantage of the free breakfast and lunch.  All schools will have a bagged breakfast ready to go when students arrive, and students will be able to grab-and -go to their destination when they arrive for school.
