“We are excited to bring this event back. It is a tremendous help to the residents and it helps keep our city cleaned up and neighborhoods well maintained," said Community Development Director Andrea Kerr. "Council has wanted to do this event for the past couple of years, so I’m glad we were able to make it happen this year. It’s definitely long overdue and something that our administration has seen as a necessity. We encourage all residents to take advantage of this event and use it to clean out their houses.”

Please note there are some exclusions and items that are prohibited: appliances containing Freon, asphalt/cement/concrete, automobile parts, batteries, construction waste, dead animals, demolition waste, dirt/rocks, free flowing liquids, gasoline, hazardous waste (as defined by any State DEP or EPA listing), industrial waste, infectious waste, medical waste, paint/oil/chemicals/pesticides, propane tanks, scrap metal, sewage sludge, yard waste. These items will not be collected.

Also:
  • Items can only be placed curbside two days prior to your pick up day.
  • This event is free to Bridgeport residents living inside city limits.
  • Spring Clean Up is not for businesses.
  • There won’t be a shred event in the spring any longer. The clean up day takes the place of that. Shred event will be in the fall only.
