Finalists Announced - Two from BHS - for MVB's West Virginia Scholar Competition; Voting Begins

Ten finalists have been named for the 2015 MVB Bank West Virginia Scholar program.  These West Virginia juniors are competing for a four-year, $125,000 scholarship at West Virginia Wesleyan College that includes tuition, fees, room and board.
 
Additional scholarships will be awarded for second and third place.  Second place will receive a four-year, $5,000 scholarship, and third place will receive a four-year, $2,500 scholarship.  Winners will be announced during a luncheon held on the Buckhannon campus on Tuesday, June 16.
 
Online voting begins today and can be accessed at www.wvmetronews.com.  Click on the ‘vote now’ button on the home page.
 
Finalists include Mateah Kittle and Margaret "Maggie" Lohmann of Bridgeport; Abigail Chaffins, Spring Valley; Ashley Grace, East Fairmont; Beaunna Haynes, Parkersburg South; Adreanna LeMasters, Wheeling Park; Khori Lowther, Lewis County; Caitlin Murphy, Tygarts Valley; Hayden Nichols, Herbert Hoover; and Katherine Rexroad, Notre Dame.
 
In addition to MVB Bank, West Virginia Wesleyan and MetroNews, the sponsors for the 2015 West Virginia Scholar Program, now in its seventh year, are the Culpepper Wesleyan Scholar Award, West Virginia Homebuilders Association, West Virginia Forestry Association, the West Virginia Hospital Association and Friends of Coal.
