Former Bridgeport Resident, Marc Halbritter, to Receive Honorary Degree during Wesleyan Commencement

Marc A. Halbritter of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Bridgeport will be receiving an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters during West Virginia Wesleyan College’s 125th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. in the John D. Rockefeller IV Physical Education Building on the Buckhannon campus. 
 
Halbritter has been a member of the West Virginia Wesleyan College Board of Trustees since 2008 and has served as the Chair of the Board since 2012.  During his leadership, Wesleyan has strengthened its financial position and enhanced its strategic planning efforts.  During his tenure, Halbritter helped the College develop Key Performance Indicators and establish addition data dashboards to help guide the decision-making process.  Wesleyan has also added the O’Roark Nordstrom Welcome Center and has addressed many deferred maintenance projects through prudent planning and budgeting.
 
Halbritter has enjoyed a distinguished career in the energy sector.  He is currently the Senior Vice President for Business Development for Caiman Energy II after service as Chief Marketing Officer and General Counsel for Blue Racer Midstream II, LLC.  Prior to that, he was the Managing Director for Dominion Transmission.
 
A 1977 magna cum laude graduate of West Virginia University (WVU), Halbritter earned his law degree from WVU and is a Certified Public Accountant.  He is active in a variety of industry trade associations, civic, and charitable causes.  He has served terms as President of several organizations and is currently on the boards of Energize West Virginia, West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association (WVONGA), and Medbrook Children’s Charity.  Marc and his wife, Debbie, have three children.
