Gov. Tomblin Declares State of Emergency for 44 West Virginia Counties, Including Harrison

At 8:40 p.m., Director of Bridgeport Emergency Services Laura Pysz reported that West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tombin has declared a state of emergency for 44 West Virginia counties – including Harrison County. Counties under the state of emergency have access to state resources.

The only counties excluded are Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Grant, Hardy, Mineral, Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson counties.

Those who live in counties under the state of emergency can call their county emergency management agencies for assistance or information – or the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (304) 558-5380.
