It its first year, 100+ Women Who Care Harrison County collected and donated $15,580; $4,250 to the Bridgeport Challenger League (pictured), $5,680 to The Elle Foundation and $5,650 to The Clarksburg Mission for the establishment of sober living homes in Harrison County.

According to Co-Founder Deanna Oliverio Mason, the organization’s goal for 2017 is to bring participants to 100 or more.

To date, 40 has been the biggest attendance, but beyond that, many area women send in checks to take part in donations to the various charities, she said.

The next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Wed., Jan. 18 at Bridgeport Country Club. All Harrison County women are encouraged to attend. After members hear from presenting organizations, they will vote upon which charity will be funded for this quarter.
