Jenna Arnold, Bridgeport Resident and Small Business Owner, Looking to Donate Medical Masks

As Jenna Arnold watched the COVID-19 pandemic escalate she knew she wanted to do something to help her community.

A Bridgeport resident and owner of her own business in the city, Selfie Studio Photo Booths, Arnold noticed how the topic of a shortage of medical masks kept coming up on the news and social media, so she decided to do something about it through another business venture she recently started — an Amazon SBA.

” I have a manufacturer that I deal with,” Arnold said. “They just started making masks and letting their clients order them from all over the world. They contacted me to see if I was interested in any and I thought it would be a good opportunity to order some to try and help out with the shortage in our community.

“I ordered some from myself that I was going to donate. I also reached out to our church which is Clarksburg Baptist Church and they also went in on the order with us and ordered some that they are going to donate as well. Then my Dad which is Rob Garcia, who is running for the House of Delegates in Harrison County, also went in with us and purchased some and he’s going to donate as well.”

Arnold’s initial order was 1,600 medical masks and they arrived on Tuesday. Five hundred are going to Clarksburg Baptist Church, 100 to her father, who’s plan was to donate them to a local fire department. Arnold herself then kept the remaining 1,000 and was already looking to make another order by the end of last week.

“I was going to call around to places and also make a Facebook post to see if my friends knew any place or if they had any suggestions of places that might need them or if they had older relatives that need them,” Arnold said. “I’m trying to help out as many people as possible. I’d like to see how many more we need because I would like to place another order. Plus, I want to get the word out if anybody else in the community would like to go in on the order because I know tons of people out there need them.”

If anybody needs masks or know of anybody that needs them or is interested in going in on her next order, Arnold can be reached at 304-931-1025.
