Located on Bridgeport's Outskirts, Lakeside Place Phase I Complete; Units Available for Lease

After nearly a year of construction, Phase I of the Lakeside Place apartment complex project is nearly complete and units are currently available for rent.

Located on Hinkle Lake Road on the outskirts of the city, the luxury two-bedroom, two-bath apartments offer views of Hinkle Lake and easy access to the city walking trail, tennis courts and Deegan Lake Park.

Co-Owner Clayton Rice said he is quite pleased to see completion of Phase I, which included construction of two apartment buildings – each containing eight 1,110-square foot units featuring stainless steel appliances, cherry cabinets and other high-end amenities.

Rice, who serves as president of Ryan Environmental, LLC., is one of three owners of the complex. He joined forces with two friends and fellow city businessmen – all Bridgeport natives who had a shared vision. Though the location had for many years been an eyesore, the property had potential to be an asset to the community, Rice said.

Co-owners of the complex are Andy Lang, owner and CEO of Blue Dot Services, and Mark Vecchio, DDS.

“The trio saw the need for a smaller apartment complex with higher-end furnishings and a setting second to none in Bridgeport,” he said.

Contractor for the project was Jennings Legacy Builders, Rice said. Due to weather, the project took longer than originally anticipated.

“We would have been ready for leasing in August, but the wet (2016) spring hampered us,” he said.

The three businessmen have teamed up before. Together, they own and operate Bridgeport Storage Units, located on South Virginia Avenue. They are offering discount storage to apartment tenants.

Landscaping will be completed as soon as weather conditions allow. Phase II of the project will be construction of additional apartment buildings on a potential nearby site, Rice said.
