From ballerina bodices and organza T-back ballgowns to floral beaded tulle sheath-styles, the 2019 Meadowbrook Mall Bridal Fair will bring brides-to-be a full spectrum of gown fashions. In addition to dresses – those suitable for weddings and proms – the Feb. 3 event will feature an array of vendors specializing in in everything from cakes and décor to honeymoon travel.

“Bridal professionals will be set up throughout the mall to assist brides in planning their special day,” said Robin Urquhart, Meadowbrook Mall marketing director.

Vendors can be visited between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The first 100 brides to register at the WDTV5 Event Center will receive free swag bags, while supplies last.

Presented by House of Fashions and Oliverio’s Bridal & Prom Boutique, the bridal and prom fashion show will take place at 2 p.m. at Marshalls Court. Keri Snell, owner of House of Fashions, provided a sneak peek as to what styles will be seen on the local runway.

“This year, we are still seeing a lot of lace styles in the gowns. Ballgowns are very much in style, as well as the straight sheath designs. We have a lot of women asking for sleeves and low-back styles, both seem to be very on trend,” she said. “The golds and champagne colors are still being asked for a lot, rather than the traditional ivory.”

Owner of Oliverio's Bridal & Prom Boutique, Angela Patsy said trending colors for bridesmaids include navy, wine, champagne and blush. While most brides choose across-the-board gown styles for their bridesmaids, some are opting to choose different styles - of the same color - to fit each bridesmaid's body type.

For the men, tuxedos in basic black are still very much in demand, but dark grey and navy are gaining in popularity, Patsy said.

Prize drawings will follow the style show.

“All registered brides have the chance to win thousands of dollars in door prizes, including three nights at the All-Inclusive Secrets Playa Mujeres Resort, courtesy of Clarksburg Travel Service,” Urquhart said.

Vendors will also offer chances to win prizes. Brides must be present to win. The bridal fair is free and open to the public and will offer brides everything they need to play their wedding in just one day.

It’s a one-stop shop and an afternoon of exciting fun, Urquhart said.
