Area residents are asked to help “Stuff the Bus” at Meadowbrook Mall. The customer service center is collecting donations of school supplies. Once the bus – located at JC Penney Court - is filled, the items will be distributed to kids in need through Centra WV Community Action and WV Head Start.

“The back-to-school season is a very big deal here at Meadowbrook Mall and we want to make sure that every child goes back to school with everything they need to start the school year off right,” said Meadowbrook Mall Marketing Director Joseph Thomas.

The school supply drive is ongoing through Aug. 19. Only school supply items are accepted, no cash.

Through Aug. 8, the mall is running a Back-to-School Gift-with-Purchase.

“Shoppers who spend $300 at any combination of Meadowbrook Mall stores can redeem their receipts at customer service for a free $25 mall gift card,” Thomas said.

Back-to-school season will also be celebrated with an Aug. 7 fashion show, beginning at 1 p.m. at Center Court. Featured fashions - toddler through young adult - will be from Maurice's, American Eagle, Hot Topic, Buckle, Rue21, Hibbett Sports, Old Navy and Torrid. Models are still needed. Apply via Message through the Meadowbrook Mall Facebook page.
