To reward students for standardized testing and good behavior, Bridgeport High School throws "Indian Fest" near the end of each school year. Friday, the entire student body was dismissed from afternoon classes and sent to Wayne Jamison Field, where a host of activities awaited.

In addition to inflatable games - including the popular jousting, giant  hamster ball and archery tag- there was volleyball, Frisbee, soccer, ladder ball, corn hole and badminton. Students also utilized nearby basketball courts and baseball fields for additional activities. Some leisurely walked the track. Others kicked off their shoes and enjoyed the day's generous sunshine and gentle breeze.

In the press box was Jared St. Martin Brown, who along with student helpers, offered tunes and commentary throughout the afternoon. The concession stand was open so the students could purchase icy drinks and treats.

The event is sponsored annually by BHS Student Council and funded by the school. This year's organizers were Joseph Cain and Ben Smith.
