PHOTOS: FOP Junior Police Academy Participants Hit the Shooting Range

By Julie Perine on July 16, 2019 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

After learning the fundamentals of gun safety and gun handling, members of this year's FOP Junior Police Academy ventured out to the archery range on Bridgeport City Trail to engage in some target practice. Professionals including Bridgeport Police Officer Bart Sayers and former DNR Officer Ben Riley provided hands-on instruction. Several of the youth had never handled a BB gun before. Some were pleasantly surprised at their newfound skills.

Junior Police Academy continues through the week at Bridgeport Middle School. Today, participants are involved in a community service - a car wash free to the public. Between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. today, Tues., July 16, bring your vehicles to the BMS parking lot for a complimentary wash.
