Photos: Effort by GFWC Bridgeport Junior Women’s Club Helps Create Mountaineer Middle Food Pantry

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 16, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Recently, nearly 900 pounds of food was collected and donated to the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Women’s Club. The food was then taken to Mountaineer Middle School in Clarksburg to help start a food pantry.

It was part of the Feds Feed Families program under the U.S. Small Business Administration. The West Virginia District was involved with that from June 1 to August 31 and included tenants in the Derek W. Hotsinpiller Federal Center along with the U.S. Departments of Justice Attorney’s Office, the Disability Determination Section of the Social Security Administration and the Small Business Administration.

After delivery, students at Mountaineer Middle were involved in setting up the pantry. MMS Counseler, Bridgeport resident and GFWC Bridgeport Junior Women’s Club Nicki Parrish assisted in getting the pantry in order after the group she was involved with made the delivery.

Please take a moment to look at the photos from the day of delivery and the work by the students in the link below.
