FROM THE JOHNSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION

The administrators at Johnson Elementary are aware of the public interest to view the new school. They have set up a public tour, but student/parent visits will take place first and will have the following guidelines. Please note the information for the visits below and that the student/parent visits are for the parents and guardians and their student children only.

Student/Parent Visits:

On August 13 at 6 p.m. Johnson Elementary will be holding a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Parent Meeting. This is an informational meeting for parents only and activities will take place in the cafeteria only.

On August 14 at 6 p.m.,there will be an open house for Students and Parents of Students in Grades 1-5. The event will be held in the gymnasium. The intent of this meeting is to relay important changes to procedures, as well as other student-specific information. Open tours will not be taking place. After meeting as a group, grade-levels will be directed to their homeroom classes.

Kindergarten individual classroom visits will take place on August 15, August 16, and August 17. Parents will select their visit time on the night of their parent meeting.

On August 23, Pre-K students will be invited to visit the building at 5 p.m. Prior to this, home visits will take place.

Public Tours:

On August 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. the public is welcome to come tour the school. You do not need to make a reservation. A formal building ceremony will take place in September.

Editor's Note: Principal Vicki Huffman and Assistant Principal Heather Holbert stand on a ladder and have some fun in the school's new reception area as work continues on the new Johnson Elementary School.
