Purchase with a Purpose is Back at Meadowbrook Mall for 2022

Meadowbrook Mall has brought back Purchase with a Purpose and a cash prize of $5,000 is up for grabs. Meadowbrook Mall Marketing Director Joseph Thomas said the event – sponsored by Dan Cava Toyota World – is scheduled for 6-9 m. Sunday, Nov. 6.
This is the first year back since 2019 and it’s a major opportunity for our area charities to raise funds, Thomas said.
“Purchase with a purpose is the area’s largest charity event, averaging $30k in fundraising each year” Thomas said. “We encourage all our local charities and nonprofits to participate because they keep 100 percent of the proceeds for the event.”
Any registered 501c3 organization can participate and financially benefit.
“They must obtain a raffle license from the state of West Virginia This is usually just a nominal fee,” Thomas said. “We provide them with the tickets to see for $5 each at no cost to them.”
Charity organizations can register to participate now, and tickets will be available soon
“The top-selling organizations will also receive tables in the mall to sell tickets the day of the event,” Thomas said. “In the past, we have sold $10,000 in tickets that night alone.”
Those who purchase tickets bring them to the mall the evening of Nov. 6, permitting them to shop 6-9 p.m. The after-hours shopping spree features giveaways and discounted shopping.
“Many of our stores will offer major discounts and free gifts for those three hours only,” Thomas said. “During those three hours, we will be live on the radio, with music, and will draw tickets every 15 to 20 minutes for mini prizes.”
Already lined up for prizes are gift baskets from Hallmark and CP Gifts & Ceramics worth over $250.
At the end of the night, all tickets go back into the drawing for the $5,000 cash prize, Thomas said.
