Smoke, Smell of Smoke in City Last Week Result of Main Street Fire Training Station as Opposed to Blaze

Individuals that may have seen, or even smelled smoke last week, in the area of the Main Street downtown corridor or anywhere in the surrounding area, it was no cause for concern.
As is often the case, it was the result of regularly scheduled training taking place at the Main Street station. Staff was on hand to keep their firefighting skills share by working on simulated fire in the burn building in the parking area behind the main building.
The practice took place most of last week. The burn building provides real world fire conditions and scenarios. It also allows them to develop knowledge of fire behavior and improve their expertise in fire suppression.
