Using Her Own Experience for Inspiration, Local Author Jill Boyce Launches Two Books

By Trina Runner on October 25, 2020 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

When local physician Jill Boyce decided to write a book, she did so with the still, small voice of God leading her and the presence of her late mother guiding her.  She had a story to tell, a relatable one for those suffering from challenges in their life, and she hopes the words will offer encouragement and healing for readers.

Boyce’s mother died the day her daughter was born, creating both the best and worst days of her life simultaneously. Because she was in labor, she could not be bedside with her mother, leaving her with crippling guilt, anger and grief.  Trying to reconcile her overwhelming joy of her daughter’s birth with these complex emotions led to a lot of reflection and, ultimately, the calling to write Harte Broken, an inspirational romance novel released in both ebook and paperback form in late October.

“I truly felt God whispering guidance from the very beginning of this journey,” said Boyce.  “He first fed me the idea for the story, then the words to write and then directed me to a team of editors, mentors and publishers that made the process possible.”

Because of her own medical background, the book features a strong female lead who is also a physician. She is torn between two potential love interests as she grapples with hard life decisions about her family home, her anger and her grief.

The book helps readers to navigate challenging times and to rely on God’s timing to restore faith and love, ultimately to find healing and resilience.

Now a stay at home mother, Boyce’s hosted a virtual launch to the book on Friday, October 23.  She also penned a second book, to be launched this fall as well.

The second book, Perfectly Imperfect, is also part of her series, A Dose of Love. Although the two books can be enjoyed independently, they are connected by the medical themes and the female leads.  Perfectly Imperfect has Dr. Blaire Cunningham volunteering at a rural Guatemalan clinic to overcome her fears, and in the process encounters a love interest that shows how God can work through unlikely circumstances to restore faith.

Boyce currently hosts a book club for those interested, which is called A Dose of Love Book Club, found on her Facebook Author Page Jill Boyce, Author, LLC.  She hopes to have book signings and appearances after COVID subsides and loves to share her personal story of healing with audiences of all types.
