Waldo Books Popping Up All Over Town; Three Remain

By Julie Perine on October 23, 2020 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

UPDATE: And now there are two unclaimed Waldo books. Sophia Ziecina, picture below, found the last book at Compton Park.

Original Friday morning post:
There are some happy kids who have been spending time searching for Waldo in their new books.

That search came about after the local children scoured local parks, looking for one of the hidden books, “Where’s Waldo? The Fantastic Journey,” by Martin Handford.The activity was launched Tuesday by the Greater Bridgeport Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The idea was inspired by the Main Street scarecrow display sponsored by the Associated Businesses of Bridgeport.

The CVB /Connect-Bridgeport placed a Waldo “scarecrow” outside of Benedum Civic Center because there’s no place Waldo would rather be than in the City of Bridgeport.

So, while visiting our city, Waldo scattered some search books throughout our parks and trails.

Three remain: One at Compton Park, one at “Alligator Park” on lower Worthington Drive and one along the walk trail; the end closest to Bridgeport City Park.

If your child finds a book, it is his or hers to keep. We do ask that you notify us that a book has been found and the location. We would love a photo of your child with the book. That information can be send to julie@connect-bridgeport.com.

So far, the following children (featured in above/cover photo in this order) have found books:

Austin Leach at Compton Park;
Archer Leach at Compton Park;
Elsie Sundstrom – Deegan Lake Park;
Jemma Crawford – Deegan Lake Park;
Christian Farley – Walk trail between City Park and Main Street Station;
Charleigh Stewart – Walk trail between City Park and Main Street Station.

Good luck and enjoy the search!
