Bridgeport High School Announces Olivia Amos, Padraig Kirkwood as the September Students of the Month

Bridgeport High School has announced that Olivia Amos and Padraig Kirkwood are the September Students of the Month.

Olivia Amos is the daughter of Danny and Beth Amos of Bridgeport. She is on the executive committee of the National Honor Society and organized the 2016 fall mission meal. Olivia is a member of the Ki-Cu-Wa yearbook staff. During the summer of 2015, she attended the prestigious Gettysburg Yearbook Experience in Pennsylvania and worked to achieve the top yearbook award for Bridgeport High School. Olivia has been an active member of student council and has been on the executive board all four years. She served as her class secretary her sophomore and junior years. She is a member of Bible Baptist Temple in Stonewood, where she enjoys being involved in the nursery. Olivia is on the staff for Camp Faith Ministries in Shinnston, where she is involved in many service projects. She also helps prepare and serve meals and set up for multiple activities. Over the summers, she works as a camp counselor r, interacting and assisting with the many children that attend. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and close family friends, riding four-wheelers, camping, and shopping. Olivia plans to study secondary education or occupational therapy next fall and is still undecided on which college or university she will be attending. She is excited to further her education and is grateful to her parents and family for all their love and support.
 
Padraig is the son of Shaun and Christy Kirkwood and the late Paula Kirkwood.  His current GPA is 3.5. Pad has been a member of the varsity soccer tean1for four years where he plays midfield and defense for the Indians. He has been a co-captain for 2 years.  Last year he earned 1st team all-county honors.  When not playing soccer for BHS, Pad plays travel soccer for the Fury soccer club. Pad has served on the student council executive board for four years, has studied photography for four years and is also a member of the Drug Free Club. Pad has also participated in recreational baseball and the Jerry West Basketball teams. He is a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Pad enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering and assisting with youth soccer programs in the area. He participated in the BHS bucket drive to support those communities affected by the floods in the southern part of West Virginia, and has also helped serve meals at the Clarksburg Mission. Pad enjoys spending time with his friends and family and boating on Tygart Lake in the summer. Pad plans to attend West Virginia University in the fall and pursue a career in Sports Medicine.
