Bridgeport High School Announces Taylor Abraham, Luke Cox as the October Students of the Month

Bridgeport High School has announced that Taylor Abraham and Luke Cox are the October Students of the Month.
 
Taylor Abraham is the daughter of Darren and Tammy Abraham. Her current GPA is a 4.03.
 
Taylor is a member of the Bridgeport High School National Honor Society as well as the French Honorary Society. She has been a member of Student Council, Key Club, and French club for four years. She has been on Bridgeport High School's varsity tennis team all four years and received honors along the way. She has been awarded the BB&T Female Tennis Athlete of the year her past three seasons and an All State Honor her junior year. Outside of school Taylor enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She had a foreign exchange student, Maria Usai, from Italy this past year who became another sister.
 
She will spend most of this summer traveling with her and her twin sister throughout their home country. Taylor has been accepted into West Virginia University and plans to major in exercise physiology.
 
Luke Cox is the son of Rick and Kathy Cox and has two siblings Paul and Elizabeth (Libby). He was born and raised in Bridgeport and currently has a 3.98 GPA at Bridgeport High School. Luke has passed AP English 11, AP Statistics, and AP Psychology, and is currently enrolled in AP 
Government, and AP Calculus. He is an AP scholar award winner, and was a semifinalist for the WV Metro News Scholarship competition for West Virginia Wesleyan College. Luke is a member of the Bridgeport High School National Honor Society. During his four years at Bridgeport High School, Luke has been most involved with soccer. He was a four-year starter for the Indians soccer team, lettering each year, and earning various awards including first team all-county, first team all-conference, first team all-state, and Big 10 Conference Defender of the Year. He has played travel soccer for Fury FC and Marion FC in the springtime since he has entered high school, and has played in several indoor winter leagues throughout the years. His freshman year Luke played for the Indians Freshman Basketball team. Luke is also an active member at Simpson Creek Baptist Church where he serves on the Youth Committee. In the summer of 2015, Luke traveled to southern Texas and Mexico on a mission trip with his church where he helped a Christian outreach ministry and an orphanage in Mexico. During his time in high school, Luke has been involved in ping pong club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Younglife. Luke enjoys boating at Tygart Lake, and skiing and snowboarding at various resorts around the area during the winter. He plans on continuing his soccer career in college and would like to attend WV Wesleyan College majoring in athletic training or a related major and eventually attend physical therapy   school.
