Bridgeport High School Quiz Bowl Team Makes Strong Weekend Showing in Nitro

The Bridgeport High Schools Quiz Bowl team pulled another high placing at their second meet of season; this time in Nitro this past Saturday.
 
At the end of the meet, the BHS A team placed third out of 16 teams representing 12 schools in from across the state. The Bridgeport B team also competed; placing sixth.
 
The BHS A team was led by Captain Danny Keough. He was joined by high scorer Jeff McCullough, Noah Romay, and Alex Bradley- Popovich. The Bridgeport B team was led by high scorer Parker O’Dell with teammates Emory Smith and Sierra Shreves.
 
The BHS A team defeated Lincoln, Fairmont East, Parkersburg Catholic A, BHS B and University High. The team also split with Capital and lost to twice to Parkersburg High School A and once to Ripley. The Indians’ B team took victories over B teams from PHS, Parkersburg Catholic, Nitro and the A team from Charleston Catholic. The squad lost to A teams from BHS, University, Ripley, Capital and Parkersburg.
 
“I think we did fairly well” said Bradley-Popovich, “and I hope we do even better in future meets.”
 
The Bridgeport academic competitive program will compete again this Saturday.  Bridgeport will be in the regional History Bowl in Wood County.
