College Goal Sunday, Held Tomorrow, Offers Free Help with FAFSA

By Trina Runner on February 14, 2015 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The graduation countdown is now down to less than four months.  Parents and students are understandably overwhelmed at the decisions that must be made about life after high school.  College Goal Sunday, held at the Caperton Center in Clarksburg on February 15, will provide free guidance on all things college.

The workshop, which lasts from 1-4p.m., offers free, confidential support in completing the FAFSA.  Financial Aid experts will be on hand to assist parents and students and answer any questions they may have.

Those wishing to attend must register at www.collegegoalsundayusa.org and bring their tax return information, social security number, a driver’s license, the number of people in the household, the number attending college, current bank statements, mortgage information, investments, and documentation proving U.S. citizenship.  Additionally, families will need to provide any benefits received, such as social security, welfare, and veteran benefits.

The event is sponsored by www.cfwv.com, an all-inclusive web site that offers resources to families, students and teachers about career planning, college prep, and employment opportunities.  The information provided at the session is applicable to both in-state and out-of-state college students or those entering college, regardless of age or income level.  More information about College Goal Sunday is available by visiting www.cfwv.com.
