She may only be half his size, but for Michael Jenkins, nothing was more important than surprising his little sister on Valentine’s Day.  Although Hannah Watson knew her big brother was coming in, it was a complete surprise when he walked into her Kindergarten class at Johnson Elementary last Friday.

“She just lit up and ran and hugged him,” said their mother, Crissy Watson.  “It was very emotional for everyone there.”

Jenkins, who graduated in 2013 from Morgantown High School, always knew he wanted to serve and protect.  The Marines have been a perfect fit for him, although being away from family is always hard.

“We haven’t seen him since Christmas,” his mother said.

He is currently in Georgia training in Satellite and Communications and will join his fleet in April at an unknown location.

“I am so proud of the man he has become and so proud that he cares so much about his sister and wanted to make her Valentine’s Day extra special.”
