Since its beginning, the non-profit charitable organization Your Community Foundation (YCF) has awarded more than $1 million in scholarship assistance to students in North Central West Virginia.

Again this year, YCF is requesting applicants for scholarships to be awarded to students from Harrison Countyand elsewhere in the region.

“We’re fortunate that so many generous donors have established endowment funds which enable us to distribute scholarship assistance to worthy students in the area,” said Nicholas Austin, president of YCF. “We hope that many students will apply for these grants, and we look forward to another year of helping students to pursue their educational goals.”

Austinnoted that YCF scholarships are specific to the interests and desires of the various donors who established them, and most have unique qualifications that the donors have requested. “If a student is interested in one or more of these scholarships, we advise them to visit our web site to find specific qualification criteria and to fill out an online application,” he said.
