On the eve of the first day of the 2014-2015 school year, open houses will be held this afternoon and this evening at Simpson Elementary, Johnson Elementary and Bridgeport Middle schools.

 

Johnson Elementary School will welcome all students - Kindergarten through 5^th grade – along with their parents between 3 and 6 p.m. Simpson Elementary School’s open house will be held 5-6:30 p.m. for preschoolers through 4^th graders.

 

Simpson Elementary 5^th graders will attend open house at Bridgeport Middle School, where they will attend school for the upcoming year. Those students may visit BMS between 5 and 6 p.m. BMS 6^th graders and any newly-enrolled students will also visit at that time. Students entering 7^th and 8^th grades will be welcomed between 3 and 4 p.m. today.

 

All open houses will provide opportunity for students and parents to meet and talk with teachers and for students to become familiar with their classrooms. Bridgeport Middle School’s event will include a meeting in the school gymnasium with school administration.

 

With the exception of preschoolers, all students in public schools will begin class tomorrow. Simpson Elementary School’s preschool classes begin Aug. 26.
