GOVERNOR TOMBLIN URGES ALL WEST VIRGINIANS WHO SUFFERED
DAMAGE DURING THE DERECHO TO REGISTER WITH FEMA FOR ASSISTANCE
|
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today urged all West Virginians who suffered damage during the June 29, 2012 storms to register with FEMA for assistance.
"I know many families throughout West Virginia experienced storm damage-including those beyond Fayette, Kanawha, Nicholas and Raleigh counties," Gov. Tomblin said. "Many of you probably called FEMA for help shortly after the storms. However, if you have not called FEMA since Sept. 19, your damages are not registered. I urge all West Virginians to call FEMA because a request to add additional counties to West Virginia's disaster declaration must be made by mid-October."
Those with damage to their homes and personal property, such as appliances or costs related to running a medically necessary generator should register by calling FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or online at www.disasterassistance.gov.
