Bridgeport Farmers Market held it last 2013-2014 winter market on April 6 with the debut of it sixth regular season May 18.

In preparation, BFM board members and volunteers held a spring clean-up day last Saturday to do some organizing and inventory of supplies. Given special attention was the market’s truck, utilized to haul and store tables, canopies and other supplies.
After several hours of cleaning and testing of equipment, the market has a good idea of what’s needed  to get the upcoming summer season off the ground, said President Debbie Workman. The BFM looks forward to the launch of this year’s outdoor market series. Included will be dozens of vendors with offering supporting the market’s farm-to-table initiative.

Weekly beginning May 18, the marketplace at Charles Pointe will be buzzing with activity – and a more-than-ample selection of homegrown produce, grass-fed beef, farm-raised chicken and pork, organic and regular baked goods and an array of other products such as personal care and beauty items, artisan wares and even vintage fashions.
The live music of Rus Reppert  and The Masons, among other artists, will be featured.  Bridgeport Farmers Market 2014 will also feature a video series and live cooking demonstrations. The summer market will be open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.
