For years, this was a local hot sot. J. Eddie Candies and Basket Shop sold many items beyond what its name indicated, including homemade candles, which can be see advertised in a photo believed to be from 1961. If you have any memories of this place that was located on Main Street, feel free to comment below.

Although the exact date of this photo is unknown, it's definitely showing a West Virginia State Police car monitoring traffic in southern West Virginia near Cross Lanes.
