Time Travel: A 1993 Dedication to Bridgeport City Hall and a 1970 Clarksburg Drug Store Ice Cream Stand

By Dick Duez on February 07, 2021 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This is a photo of the dedication of the former Bridgeport City Building, that also served as a home to the police department, from April 24, 1993. This served as the city's home until moving to its current location on Main Street. See anyone you recognize? If you do, please add their names to the comment section below.
Anyone remember when drug stores used to also be home to ice cream shops? That was the case nationwide and locally, as this photo from 1970 shows. This is the Harbert's Drug Store Ice Cream Bar. Harbert's was located for years along Fourth Street in downtown Clarksburg.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@citynet.net.
