This body of water look familiar? This is a photo from 1940 of Maple Lake and for anyone who has driven through the development sitting just outside of the city limits of Bridgeport, they can tell you things look a whole lot different right now.

This photo is from the eastern Preston County town of Terra Alta. The photo dates all the way back to 1895. It shows a homestead owned by John and Catherine Hewett. The Hewetts are likely shown in this photo and it is possible the two youngest are their children, although that is an unknown.
