Although 1995 did not see the Bridgeport baseball team win a state title despite making it to Charleston, the team did have a miraculous run to get there. After losing the first game of the sectional tournament to Grafton, the Indians watched a week of weather postponements force them into playing a triple header on a Saturday. The team beat South Harrison and then Grafton twice on a day where the temperatures were in the 90s, said Coach Robert Shields.
This photo is from the 1960s, athough the exact date is unknown. It is from Patrick Street in Charleston and, as you can see, there was plenty of business activity.
