By Dick Duez on May 29, 2022 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo is believed to be from 1972 and how many things have changed and a few things are in place. This main area that is flat with the earth showin gis the Ellis Drive Inn. At the bottom left, that is believed to be the end of the parking lot of the Hills Plaza. The roadway shows U.S. Route 50 and the first building past the main entrance to the Ellis is the now delomished Towne House East and just past that is Twin Oaks, which is still in business. Anyone recongize anything else? If so, add to the comment section below.
This photo of a home on East Main Street in Clarksburg was taken in 1950. And it it still standing today. Although not certain, the house is believed to have been built in 1901 and looks very similar to this photo 70-plus years later. Check out the mailbox in the bottom right corner, which used to be prominent all over cities throughout West Virginia.
