Time Travel: Aerial View of Jamison Field Complex in 1982 and Harrison County Store, Eatery from 1910

By Dick Duez on October 31, 2021 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Things certainly have changed in the near four decades since this photo was taken 1982. The athletic fields in question are either completely renovated or, in the case with the Little League field, no longer there. Also no longer there is Johnson Elementary School, which was recently demolished. Photo is courtesy of Mike Corder.
Looking for some items or a bite to eat in 1910 in Harrison County? If so, you may have visited the Lambert Store and Restaurant in Adamsville, close to Shinnston and between that city and Bridgeport. As the sign shows, you could also purchase shoes at the location.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. , the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing effortsDuez to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dickdo@citynet.net.
