Time Travel: An Interior View of The Handy Shop from the 1960s and a Now Extinct Fairmont Restaurant

By Dick Duez on April 21, 2019 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

For more than one generation of Bridgeport residents - and even beyond - The Handy Shop was part of the daily routine. This is another interior photo of the store. The photo was taken in 1963 and the advertisement at the back is for Viceroy Cigarettes. See anything else? Feel free to share your memories below.
Does anyone remember this restaurant from Marion County? Can anyone identify any of the young ladies pictured? If so, add to the comment section below.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
"Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
